Build Your Legacy

The Last Unicorn: King Mountain

Just twelve miles from the Golden Gate Bridge, this 140+ acre ridgetop parcel, offers its next owner the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build a legacy residential compound of unimaginable privacy, beauty, and sheer size in southern, unincorporated Marin County, on a panoramic view lot immediately adjoining tens of thousands of acres of open space. The building envelope, on a ridgeline atop of King Mountain, has 360-degree panoramic views of the city of San Francisco, the East Bay, and Marin, as well as unobstructed views of the Bay, Bridges, and of course, Mt. Tamalpais, as well as many of the Bay Area’s most prominent peaks, and surrounding open spaces.

The Bay Area is blessed with entrepreneurs and investors that dream of creating Tech Unicorns… and a talented, brilliant, and inspired few succeed in doing so.  King Mountain is the Bay Area’s LAST Real Estate equivalent of the Tech Unicorn that so many entrepreneurs and investors dream of creating.

Incredibly, this completely secluded ridgetop paradise is just a few minutes away from shops and restaurants, just four miles from Highway 101, and less than 20 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge.  And yet, it is a million miles away from city living.

In addition to Redwood Groves, Madrones, Oaks, and other native Flora and Fauna, the land enjoys direct access to hundreds of miles of hiking and riding trails, and direct access to tens of thousands of acres of open space.

King Mountain is fully vested and entitled, with approved plans for the construction of a legacy compound in excess of 27,500 square feet, that includes a main residence, guest residence, caretaker’s home and other auxiliary buildings, as well as a large pond, access roads and pathways, vineyards, orchards, horse corrals, and elaborate water features. When complete, the King Mountain Estate will be like no other residential compound in the Bay Area.

There are thousands of view homes in the Bay Area; hundreds of view homes in prestigious neighborhoods; dozens and dozens of private view estates that are owned by the most celebrated, successful, and affluent creative minds of our time:  But there is only one King Mountain.

No other estate property in the Bay Area compares.  It is truly the last Unicorn.

Community

About Kentfield

Some of the most beautiful properties in Marin can be found in Kentfield, a quiet community of spacious older homes sited on large, lushly landscaped parcels. One of the towns meeting points of this upscale residential community is the Woodlands Market, a unique gourmet grocery store, bakery, wine bar, and cafe. For more than 20 years, Woodlands Market has been the place where residents get their fill of local news and events while filling their grocery cart.

Public schools in Kentfield are among the best in Marin. Bacich Elementary, with one teacher for every twelve students, and Kent Middle School, with an API of 890, are in the top ten percent of schools in California. Kentfield is also home to Marin Catholic High School, the largest private school in Marin County, and the College of Marin, a two year community college with a strong local presence and an excellent reputation as a feeder to the University of California system. College of Marin offers adult classes for the public, and a vibrant performing arts program of theater, vocal, and classical music. The frequent public performances provide neighborhood residents with access to the cultural arts not normally found in a town of 7,000.

About Larkspur

One of the most spectacular features of houses in Larkspur is the scenery surrounding them. Redwoods rule in Larkspur. In Baltimore and Madrone Canyons, giant redwoods grow straight out of the roadway, while the streets gently curve their way around these massive trees. Tucked away under the redwoods beneath Mount Tam, Larkspur boasts world-class restaurants, including the Lark Creek Inn Tavern. The town’s main street, Magnolia Avenue, is a vibrant destination for food lovers who frequent Picco, Cafe Rulli, and the Left Bank Brasserie. The Lark Theater, also on Magnolia, has been recently restored to its art deco glory by a community effort that supports first run films and live music performances. The Larkspur/Corte Madera path runs a few blocks parallel to Magnolia, on a former railroad right-of-way, and is popular with families, dog walkers, and bikers on their way to Point Reyes.

Larkspur and the neighboring town of Corte Madera share one of the best school districts in the state, with Redwood High School consistently achieving API scores in the high 880s.
